● Our story

Two agents.
One firm. All year.

Sapere was built on a simple conviction: the people who know your taxes best should be the people who answer when you call. Not a shared inbox. Not a junior. The partner.

The partners.

I've been an Enrolled Agent since 2004, federally licensed by the U.S. Treasury with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS — I've been doing this work for more than 35 years, long enough to have seen tax law change again and again and to know how to navigate it for my clients.

My focus is on small business owners and the families behind them. I look at the business return and the personal return as one connected picture, not two separate jobs. I also believe in planning ahead, not just filing: I want you to hear about ways to lower your tax bill while there's still time to actually do something about it, not after the fact.

And I'm here year-round, not just in April. If you have a question, you should be able to ask it in plain English and get a straight answer — that's how I've always worked, and it's not going to change.

A return is a conversation that ends on paper. The conversation is the part that matters.

Before becoming a partner at Sapere, I spent more than 30 years working for global companies in business and technology program management. For the last decade of those 30 years, I ran my own consultancy. As a small business owner, I became laser focused on my business economics and ways to ease my tax burden.

These varied career experiences gave me a deep, practical understanding of how numbers, systems, and decisions all connect. It’s something I love to think about, always seeking to find efficiencies, improvements and new and better solutions.

One day a new door opened — I had the opportunity to volunteer with Prepare + Prosper, a Minnesota nonprofit that provides free tax preparation and financial coaching to people across the state. Watching how much a little financial knowledge could change someone’s life inspired me and eventually led me to pursue a new career as a tax preparer and advisor. Today, I get to research the tax code, understand the needs of my clients, and help them make sound financial decisions that set them up for success.

Originally from Israel, I have lived and worked in many locations over the years before settling in Minnesota. When I’m not in the office, I’m often traveling, hiking, playing pickleball, or hosting friends for a Mediterranean dinner with my husband and our two adult kids. And yes — even in my free time, I’m often happiest with a good spreadsheet open in front of me.

Planning is just doing in November what most people do in April.
● How we work

Three things we don't negotiate.

Partners, not juniors.

When you hire Sapere, you work with the person who answered your email — not an associate who hands your file upstairs. Both partners carry an active client load and sign every return.

Year-round, not just April.

Tax is a 12-month subject. The decisions you make in June matter more than the forms you file in April. Our clients have our number, and we pick up.

The right answer, not the easy one.

We will tell you when a strategy is not worth the risk and when a deduction does not hold up. We would rather lose a fee than give advice we wouldn't stake our license on.
